Some people are remarkable “Blame Game” players; they blame everyone for their predicaments without seeking the real causes or solutions to their problems. I am not doing well in school because of my teachers. My boss does not like me; that is why he always finds faults with my work. I am not succeeding because of my auntie. The devil is the cause of all my problems. These are the familiar refrains of the blame-game mindset.
But when you face challenges in any area of your life, resist the urge to shift blame onto people or circumstances. Instead, focus on finding solutions. If you pursue your goals with a blame-game attitude, success will slip out of reach. Every problem has a solution, and success-oriented people seek answers, they do not indulge in blame. Abraham Lincoln captured this truth well: “Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing.”
Those who achieve their goals are not people without faith; they are people filled with faith, personal conviction, and focus. Your attitude and focus will lift you to the heights of your dreams. I believe all success begins with a strong belief in your dream—your attitude, determination, strength of character, and focus. The devil may indeed attempt to hinder you, but remember: you are an overcomer if you choose to believe.
